At the Diamond W Ranch we specialize in teaching good, solid basics of horsemanship, while practicing safe habits on and around the horse for a happier, healthier experience for both horse and rider. We will teach the brand new beginner, or fine tune your skills for the show ring. We start everyone in an English saddle, so that the rider learns to have a good, balanced seat. From there we can help you to improve your skills in jumping or dressage, or just be a better rider on the trails. The lead instructor is CHA certified, and has over 35 years experience in teaching, including over 25 years at this location.
Students age 8 to adult are welcome, age 5-8 will be evaluated individually to see if they are physically and mentally ready for the challenge of horsemanship. Junior riders can participate in our horsemanship program, and receive certificates based on their riding skills, grooming skills, and horsemanship knowledge. Lessons are private or semi-private, to insure the greatest individual attention for the student. Students will be placed on a suitable lesson horse for their ability, or they may bring their own horse for lessons.
Lessons are $35 each, or
$120 for four lessons, paid in advance, to be used within 60 days. Two riders in a lesson the price will be the same, but will be 1 1/2 hours instead of 1 hour.
